$10 Million Southern Oregon Estate Elevates Modern Design And Wellness
In Southern Oregon, a singular estate on the market for $9.98 million takes indoor/outdoor living, ... [+] sustainability and modern design up a notch.
Sometimes, a greenhouse is more than a place for plants. A two-acre estate for sale in Southern Oregon features a greenhouse with climate control and 15-foot ceilings that allow guests to comfortably dine under a moonlit sky.
It’s the kind of singular detail created through a collaboration between functional medical specialist and designer Nisha Jackson and builder Michael Woods. The two created the wellness-based home at 4542 Aerial Heights Drive in Medford in 2020 with a contemporary vibe that owes much to indoor-outdoor California living. They worked with Medford-based designer Randy Gleysteen who says the site “... lent itself to a contemporary design with clean lines and inspiring angles begging for an abundance of glass to take advantage of not only it’s views and surroundings, but it’s distinguished setting.”
The one-of-a-kind property is the result of a collaboration between medical specialist and designer ... [+] Nisha Jackson and builder Michael Woods.
“I think the thing that was inspiring for us is, with [Woods’] construction background and my development construction/design background, we realized we had so much in common and liked the same design elements, says Jackson, a resident of Texas who owns several medical businesses in the Lone Star state and Oregon. We wanted so much to try a big project ourselves.”

Black trim provides a visual contrast against the home's white stucco facade and modern design ... [+] elements.
The result is a contemporary 8,293-square-foot self-tailored home that values indoor/outdoor living, sustainability, valley and mountain vistas and plenty of entertainment space.
Modern clerestory windows flood the double-height entry with natural light.
Now on the market for $9.98 million, the property includes a main house, guest house, greenhouse, two-level space for an art studio or office as well as a three-car garage, sauna, infinity pool and putting green.
Walls of glass stretching 15 feet high frame valley and mountain views.
For Woods, sighting the house was the driving design element. “I think one of our main inspirations was optimizing the setting,” Woods says. “With both of us liking modern and contemporary styles, we made large windows that frame this beautiful view as you walk through the front door.”
The living room is anchored by a vertical stone fireplace.
The white stucco house with black trim elements stands on a hill about 700 feet above vineyards and pastures in the Rogue Valley below and the Siskiyou Mountains in the distance. Rooms with 15-foot glass walls point outside, from the living room with a vertical stone fireplace to the dining area and chef’s kitchen on the main floor, which has a marble island and walnut breakfast bar. There’s also a second kitchen used for catering.
The home office sits behind steel and glass doors.
“Anywhere you are on the main and lower level, you see this view. At different times of the year and different times of the day, you can see the weather across the valley moving out in front of you,” Woods says. “Sometimes you’re above the fog, below the fog — it’s just a really spectacular view.”
A pair of indoor swings suspended from the living room ceiling are among the home's unique features.
The home’s open floor plan leads to a terraced area with a balcony and dining and entertaining space. The primary bedroom has wraparound windows and a gas fireplace. Heated marble floors lead to the tile-and-stone bathroom with a free-standing tub, double walk-in shower and large vanity.
A marble island and breakfast bar highlight the chef's kitchen.
On the lower level, two ensuite bedrooms face the pool and the valley and allow access to a kitchen and bar area. A pool-view gym is accompanied by a steam shower and Swedish sauna. Next to the pool, an outdoor dining and living room area come with a fireplace and wood bar. A private walking path surrounds the property.
A tasting area sits off a glass-enclosed wine cellar.
Jackson’s favorite thing to do at home? Relaxing on swings suspended from the ceiling. (You heard right—swings that double as chairs.) “Our favorite thing to do is come home from work, get a glass of wine and swing toward the view,” she says. “It’s pretty epic. There’s something cathartic about swinging.”
Oversized windows capture sweeping views in the primary suite.
The expansive property also has an intimate side. Jackson says summer parties with 200-plus guests never felt crowded. “Almost every person who visits says the same thing: It feels comfortable and homey,” Jackson says.
A mix of stonework creates visual interest in the primary bathroom.
She also put her “heart, soul and pocketbook” into the property and never thought about leaving. But family, travel and business commitments outside Oregon made the couple decide to sell.
The guest house features its own open-concept space and kitchen with a breakfast bar.
Jackson owns and runs OnePeak Medical, which specializes in functional medicine, primary care, hormone balance, age management and disease prevention. She’s known as a motivational speaker, radio host, and author of Brilliant Burnout: How Successful, Driven Women Can Stay in the Game by Rewiring Their Bodies, Brains, and Hormones and other books. Woods was the builder for OnePeak sites.
Wellness amenities include a home gym.
Jackson says prospective owners may be year-round or seasonal users who want a turnkey residence that comes with privacy in a natural setting. High-end homes in Southern Oregon often come with many acres to manage. “The advantage of this is you have two acres, perfectly manicured, but it’s not something you have to work at like a vineyard or an orchard,” Jackson says.
Layers of landscaping set in retaining walls create a natural envelope for the hilltop estate.

A wealth of covered patio space opens to the pool area, which has an open-air cabana with an outdoor ... [+] kitchen.
Steps lead through the yard to the greenhouse and guesthouse.
